The City Hall. Pasadena, the city where we live, is in Los Angeles County, about 16 km north of downtown Los Angeles. It was founded in 1874. The population in 2010 was 137,000. The City Hall building, completed in 1927, was designed by John Bakewell and Arthur Brown, and inspired by the early Renaissance style of 16th century Italian architecture.
