Hillside walk, 16 September 2019

Observations are much the same as last week. Again the outstanding observations are saw toothed goldenbush (Hazardia squarrosa) and twiggy wreath plant (Stephanomeria sp.). Today's observation of Stephanomeria includes a new specimen at the top of the north hillside. Currently this species is blooming in four different locations. In previous years I've seen it in only one location in any one year.

Most other observations today fall into the category of summer remnants. We seem to have more remnants than towards the end of most summers. Perhaps it is because this summer has not been as hot as in recent years.
