Hillside walk, 17 September 2016
The relatively cool autumn weather continues. This week's walk was early in the morning of Saturday, beginning at 6:50 a.m. Starting more that five or ten minutes earlier would be difficult because of lack of light. It's a lovely time of day to be on the hillside. It did not appear to make any difference to the variety or amount of flowers in bloom.
This week's flowers are similar to last week's. The saw toothed goldenbush (Hazardia squarrosa) on the mid north hillside continues it's bloom, probably a little past its peak. The western ragwort (Ambrosia psilostachya) on the Lida Street berm is at its peak, albeit smaller in comparison to last year.
