Hillside walk, 14 July 2014
Another new flowering plant discovered: California mugwort (Artemisia douglasiana), a species I've been watching for some time, waiting for it to begin blooming, which it now is doing. A few dozen of these plants are along the edge of the lower part of Canyon 8, in the open.
The overall gradual decline in number of flowering species continues as the summer advances.
