Hillside walk, 16 September 2013
This week's walk was in the early morning, beginning at 7 a.m., so much more pleasant that in the hot afternoons.
I first observed California coffeeberry (Frangula californica) blooming on the last day in February, and it's had flowers continuously since then; but the flowering season is at an end, with no flowers anywhere on the tree. Ample fruits are present.
Puncture vine (Tribulus terrestris) is blooming this week along the upper section of Lida Street. It's an unpleasant weed because of its sharp seeds, so I may remove it on a future walk.
