Hillside walk, 28 August 2013

It was a muggy day, similar to recent days, perhaps a little cooler. So the walk was in the morning rather than the afternoon. It was again a modified walk in that it avoided the west canyons in case bears are in the area.

Again the flowers were minimal. The star this week is Hazardia squarrosa, which continues its usual mid summer blooming. A surprise was one flowering plant of narrow leaf milkweed (Asclepia fascicularis), which had finished blooming in mid June.
