Hillside walk, 11 December 2017

Again the hillside is much as it was a week ago. I would say nothing is any longer at the peak of bloom. Notable was that four o'clock (Mirabilis laevis var. crassifolia) was blooming this morning in three different locations, the entrance to Canyon 8, the mid north hillside, and upper Canyon 3B. The quantities were small, ranging from a few to several flowers.

Saw toothed goldenbush (Hazardia squarrosa) on the mid north hillside continues its regular blooming, just a small number of flowers, but a constant ongoing presence that usually lasts into the new year.

It's a pleasure to see the chaparral currant (Ribes malveceum) continuing to bloom in Canyon 5.
