Hillside walk, 26 August 2017

The gradual decline in variety of flowering species continues, much as it does every year at this time. For several weeks the count was higher than ever, but this week it's back to about what it has been in previous years.

It's particularly gratifying to see saw toothed goldenbush (Hazardia squarrosa) flowering so well. It's never a mass of bloom all over, and appears more to have a sprinkling of flowers here and there. That's the way it works; and it keeps going until all of the many buds have turned into flowers.
